Klaus Florian Vogt commissioned a version of Schubert's famous 20-song cycle for tenor and chamber ensemble, which he and Ensemble Acht premiered at a concert in the Elbphilharmonie on March 24, 2019. The original accompanying piano was replaced by an octet instrumentation created by Schubert himself with clarinet, bassoon, horn, two violins, viola, cello and double bass. The arrangement of the chamber music version is by the composer Andreas N. Tarkmann. The CD has been released by cpo in 2023.
Klaus Florian Vogt recorded a series of thrilling operetta hits for his “Favorites” CD, in which he displays a fascinating spectrum of melodies from “Grüß mir mein Wien” and “Es steht ein Soldat am Wolgastrand” to “Dein ist mein ganzes Herz” as well as hits from musicals like “Music in the Night” from “Phantom of the Opera”.
For the anniversary year in 2013, Klaus Florian Vogt released this recording which gives an insight into bis impressive Wagner repertoire. Excerpts from “Lohengrin”, “Parsifal”, “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” and “Die Walküre” are supplemented with a forecast of roles in which the artist has not yet appeared onstage: “Tristan und Isolde”, “Götterdämmerung” and “Renzi”.
On this CD Klaus Florian Vogt can not only be heard as a Wagner interpreter, he also shows his lyric versatility in arias from “Der Freischütz”, “Zar und Zimmermann”, “Oberon”, “Marta” and “Die tote Stadt”.
The filmmaker Astrid Bscher accompanied Klaus Florian Vogt during his appearances at various opera houses, leading to his triumphal debut at the Bayreuth Festival in 2007. In addition, she also shows the singer’s private side and tells the story of his musical career from his early days as a horn player in the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra to his successes as a Wagner-Tenor at great opera houses worldwide.
